Carlino’s Dark Chocolate Bars

One of the joys of a novelty product is the opportunity to create something a little more artistic than the day-to-day branding I normally work within. This chocolate bar packaging was created for Carlino’s gifting department. I used the idea of vintage Italian postage stamps to create something playful and elegant. The smaller stamp designs feature illustrations that showcase the chocolate’s ingredients. The illustration of the woman was part of the Carlino’s logos in the 90’s and early 2000’s. The Carlino family wanted to bring her back, and I saw this project as the perfect opportunity to incorporate that nostalgia. She is featured in both designs with the number 83 to signify the opening of the first Carlino’s location in 1983.
